Even though I put money away all year long in a xmas acct at the bank, I am cutting our holiday spending drastically. The boys will get one big gift from Santa and I'm going to allow my husband and I to buy a small gift from Santa too, but other than that we are not buying gifts for each other just a few smaller gifts for the boys. We are even talking about getting a smaller tree this year.
So are you scaling back, or is it xmas as usual?

Well good for you and any others that put the money away throughout the year. I am SO NOT good at that. I think around the 250 to 500 mark, but not sure that we will spend that much. We usually don't buy eachother anything, we focus on Ashlyn and the nieces and nephews for presents. So the number above may be a little steep for the the kiddies. Ashlyn of course would get the brunt of it with us uaually spending about 20 to 25 on the other kids ( per kid ). So all in all we are scaling back, and have been for the last couple. We have a home now and we have alot of things we would like to do with that money :)
I guess I should have answered my own post by voting. I am hoping to keep it around $400 for us this year. We've already bought 1 bike and we need to get a skateboard next.
But this amount will include the cost of the tree and my dad'd bday present. Then I hope to just save the $450 that I'll have left. Usually we spend it all plus some. Last year, I was hoping we could use the money and go to the snow this year, but that is out of the question this year. Maybe I can save the extra money and roll it over with next year's savings.
